The always amazing -even more on a sunny day- Piazza della Repubblica (Republic Square) in Rome

Uneven New York

Uneven is not that bad sometimes …
This is a beautiful modern building in New York, near the highline (a former railway line transformed into a park).

Flatiron Building New York -always the King!

Flatiron building fun fatcs !

*At the vertex, the triangular tower is only 6.5 feet (2m) wide. Viewed from above, this ‘pointy’ end is an acute angle of only 25 degrees. Although the building looks symmetrical, it is actually shaped as a right-angled triangle.

*The building is also said to have helped coin the phrase “23 skidoo”, from what cops would shout at men who hung out on 23rd. Street trying to get glimpses of women’s dresses being blown up by the winds swirling around the building due to the strong downdrafts it created.

*The Flatiron is a functioning office building. The offices at the point are always the most coveted because they look directly on to the Empire State Building.

*”I found myself agape, admiring a skyscraper – the prow of the Flatiron Building, to be particular, ploughing up through the traffic of Broadway and Fifth Avenue in the late-afternoon light”. – English author H.G. Wells (1866 – 1946)
